Professional Quantity Surveying


The role of the Professional Quantity Surveyor is to take full overall cost and financial management of a project.  In order to best achieve this service, we treat Client’s money as if it were our own.  We have experience of working for both the Client and Contracting side of the industry, and have a fully detailed knowledge of the market.

 

Working alongside Professional Teams of Architects, Structural Engineers, Services Engineers and other Consultants, we are able to provide professional advice regarding your project.

 

Typical services provided under Professional Quantity Surveying appointments include the following:

 

  • Preparation of Initial Budget Estimates from either concept ideas or preliminary design information;
  • Preparation of Option / Funding Appraisal Information;
  • Preparation of Detailed Cost Planning advice through design development;
  • Preparation of Cash Flow Forecasts;
  • Procurement Advice;
  • Contract Advice and Preparation of Construction Contract Documentation including:
    • Appointment Letters;
    • Collateral Warranties;
    • Performance Bonds;
    • Guarantees;
    • Novation Agreements;
  • Value Management and Value Engineering Processes;
  • Advising on Materials, Specifications and General Build-ability;

Contractor's Quantity Surveying


The role of the Contractor’s Quantity Surveyor can be tailored to suit individual requirements from complete financial management through to individual project elements of work.

 

Typical services provided for Contractor Quantity Surveyor appointments include the following:

  • Preparation of Tender Pricing Documentation including:
    • Builder’s Bills of Quantities (see below);
    • Schedules of Work;
    • Preparation of Sub-Contractor Procurement Packages;
    • Contractor’s Estimating;
    • Project Programming;
    • Preparation of Interim Valuations;
    • Assessment of Contract Variations;
    • Re-measurement of Elements of Work;
    • Sub-Contractor Management (Appointments, Variations, Valuations, Payments);
    • Total Project Financial Control including Cost / Value Reconciliations;
    • Construction Contract Review and Advice;
    • Contractual Disputes, Extension of Time and Loss and Expense Claims;

 

 

Builder's Bills of Quantities

 

We are able to prepare Builder’s Bills of Quantities for any project of any size tailored to suit the individual format required by a Builder. 

 

Formats can include:

  • SMM7;
  • NRM2;
  • NRM3 (for Maintenance and Repairs);
  • CESMM4 (for Civil Engineering);
  • Elemental;
  • Trade;

We are able to provide Bills of Quantities in either electronic or hard copy, and in PDF, Excel, CITE or EBQ formats.
